YOU’RE INVITED TO
SUGAR LOAF FORD’S ANNUAL MUSTANG RUN!
The "hoofbeats" of your Mustangs will be shaking the ground on Sunday, July 12th, 2009 for our 8th Annual Mustang Run to benefit the Susan G. Kohmen "Race for the Cure.!"
Our event begins at 9 AM on Sunday, July 12, 2009 with check in, registration and assembly. While we wait and marvel at the beautiful pony's as they round up, there'll be a designated spot for you to have a photo taken of you and your family with your own camera. Refreshments and popcorn will be available at no charge. We'll have a vendor present with Mustang items for sale, or, if you wish, she can design your very own personalized purses, t-shirts, mouse pads, signs, etc.
We'll leave Sugar Loaf Ford's corral at approximately 11:00AM with a police escort and wind through the beautiful hills & Root River valley of Southeastern Minnesota with our final destination of Harmony, Minnesota where we’ll have lunch at Wheelers Bar & Grille. There we’ll enjoy a buffet lunch of chicken breast over wild rice, vegetable and salad for a cost of $8.55 for adults, children 10 & under $4.30. Ice water will be provided and a cash bar will be set up for your choice of beverage.
After lunch, you’re invited to visit the famous Niagra Cave, which is rated as one of the "Top Ten" caves in the nation. It boasts of a 60 foot waterfall, ancient fossils, crystal wedding chapel and more. There are picnic grounds, gemstone mining and a gift shop for your enjoyment. It’s just 5 miles from Wheelers and can accomodate approximately 50 cars in their parking lot at a time. We’ve been given a group rate which includes tax of $9.35 for adults, teenagers $7.25, children 4yrs to 12yrs would be $5.25 and children under 4 years of age are free. Tours last one hour and approximately 15 people can enter every 12 minutes or so. They recommend some of us arrive at 2PM, then 3 PM, etc. They are open until 5 PM.
Other points of interest are Slim’s Woodshed, home of the nations largest woodcarving museum, shops, Amish buggys riding the streets and a Hobo Camp at the entrance of Trailhead Park with life-sized wood carved figures. See your booklet for more information.
Commemorative Mustang Run T-Shirts will be available again this year. They are $10.00 for sizes up to XL. $12.00 for XXL & beyond.
Because of your $10.00 donation per car last year, we were proud to contribute over $1000.00 to the Susan G Komen "Race for the Cure." We would ask again this year for the same contribution of $10.00 per car. Thank you in advance for your generosity. We’re also proud to say that despite the economic downturn that has effected car companies in particular, Ford Motor Company has pledged up to $1,000,000 again this year in support of the cause.
If any of you are a breast cancer survivor, please let us know on your registration slip. We'll have a special gift for you.
To expedite our food service and admission to the cave, tickets for both must be paid for at the check in/registration table at SUGAR LOAF FORD, INC. the day of the run.
As we say at the beginning of a run, we’re going on a specific route. If you choose to follow our route, you do so of your own free will. Should something harmful befall you while on our run, you are solely responsible for your actions and deeds. Sugar Loaf Ford assumes no liability of responsibility.
To conclude, cost to you is $10.00 suggested donation per car, your lunch at $8.55 per person for adults, Niagra Cave tour @ $9.35 per adult, t-shirts if you wish to order one and gas.
